VISA RESTRICTIONS RELATED TO COVID-19
According to the Government Decree dated 16 March 2020 No. 635-r only few categories of visa can be issued. To check information on the restrictions, please refer to the link.
Due to ongoing pandemic all types of paperwork for regular visas must be submitted by mail through Visa Center in New York. Fill free to contact Visa Center by email before mailing in your paperwork firstname.lastname@example.org.
However, in the case of emergency (sudden death or severe illness of a close relative) the applicants may apply for an emergency private visa directly to the Consulate by prior appointment. You can make an appointment via email email@example.com.
Important information for those US nationals who have applied for three-year multiple entry visas (tourist, business, private or humanitarian) before March 16, 2020 and did not get their visas because of the Russian border shut down due to pandemic.
You may have your visas stamped in your passports free of charge when the Consulate reopens. For more information, please contact the Visa Center in New York.
Russian Visa Center
In order to improve the quality of service for applicants applying for a Russian visa a new Russian Visa Center is in operation in the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in New York (web-site: https://russia-visacentre.com/en/visa/usa/russia, Call-Center: 202-503-9911, email: firstname.lastname@example.org).
The objectives of the Visa Center are to speed up and facilitate the visa procedure, to create the most comfortable conditions for applicants, to clarify the rules of entry and stay in the Russian Federation, to check the completeness of documents required for obtaining a visa as well as to represent the interests of applicants at the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in New York when submitting (collecting) documents on their behalf.
The final decision to issue or refuse a Russian visa, as well as the issuance of visa itself to foreign nationals outside the Russian Federation, lies with the respective Russian Consular institutions.
Individual applicants have the right to apply directly to the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in New York to obtain a visa by making an online prior appointment at the website of the Consulate http://new-york.kdmid.ru/queue-en/.
In order to exclude cases of fraud with the pre-registration system, we accept documents only from those applicants whose personal data was entered into the system during the registration of the application. In case of a discrepancy of the information indicated in the system with the data of the applicant whose documents are submitted to the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in New York, those documents will not be considered. One time slot in the system provides the possibility of submitting only one set of documents to the Consulate.
